Appeals for volunteers and/or information concerning DAG projects and research.
Appeals which remain in force will stay up, new appeals appearing first. Members wanting information or help can add their appeal by contacting Sarah Williams by email or phone (01594 835955).

EXCAVATION INVITATION
Last summer David Jemmet of Monmouth Archaeology carried out a research excavation at Garway, Herefordshire (Knight'sTemplars). If any members would be interested in helping on these excavations this year, please contact Sarah.
David's plan this year is to be on site from the
first Sunday in March until July/August, working every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoon from about 2pm to early evening. He will be excavating in a new area, looking for the third building in the complex, which should consist of about 10 - 12 buildings in total.

REQUEST FOR BOOKCASES

If anyone has any spare bookcases they would be wiling to donate to the group, we would be very grateful. We are in the process of setting up a Group library at The Pludds Village Hall. This will contain all the archaeological books and archive material that the Group has and will be available to all members on request. Watch this space for an opening date.

RARE BOOKS SOUGHT
We are hoping to obtain for the group a copy of the following rare books:
1974 reprint of Atkins - The Ancient and Present State of Gloucestershire
1977 reprint of Rudder - A New History of Gloucestershire
1825 Washbourn - Bibliotheca Gloucestrensis
All three are available for study in Lydney Library but how much better it would be to have our own copies!
Don't apply to any of those firms offering to locate 'Rare and Out-of-Print' books. From experience, even if they find them, they mark them up price wise. One book we found was listed at £35, but we picked it up for £15.
